• NBC Cuts Episode Order for The Cape

NBC’s superhero drama The Cape has had it’s episode order cut from 13 down to 10. Due to it’s poor ratings, the future doesn’t look bright for The Cape. It isn’t canceled yet but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it sticking around.

  • Flashpoint Info

Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert and Sandra Hope are creating an epic five issue series, one with a scope so big and ambitious that there will be fifteen mini series expanding on the events, along with several important one shots.

Last Friday they announced fourteen mini series’ titles based on this year’s Flash based event titled Flashpoint. It seems that the story is based around the Reverse Flash changing some key moments in DC’s history so things don’t happen the way that they did. Here’s a list of the announced titles:

    Whatever Happened to Gotham City?

FLASHPOINT: BATMAN KNIGHT OF VENGEANCE #1-#3
FLASHPOINT: DEADMAN AND THE FLYING GRAYSONS #1-#3

Whatever Happened to the World’s Greatest Super Villains?

FLASHPOINT: DEATHSTROKE & THE CURSE OF THE RAVAGER #1-#3
    FLASHPOINT: THE OUTSIDER #1-#3

    Whatever Happened to the Aliens?

FLASHPOINT: ABIN SUR THE GREEN LANTERN #1-#3
    FLASHPOINT: PROJECT: SUPERMAN #1-#3

Whatever Happened to Science & Magic?

FLASHPOINT: FRANKENSTEIN & THE CREATURES OF THE UNKNOWN #1-#3
    FLASHPOINT: SECRET SEVEN #1-#3

    Whatever Happened to Europe?

    FLASHPOINT: EMPEROR AQUAMAN #1-#3
FLASHPOINT: WONDER WOMAN AND THE FURIES #1-#3

  • SLAM-A-RAMA Issue 3 Available This Wednesday

Do you like reading comics? Do you like old school wrestling? If you answered yes to either or both of these questions then you have to check out SLAM-A-RAMA by Halifax’s own Dave Howlett. Available for purchase at Strange Adventures this coming Wednesday!

Here’s a write-up from the comic’s website to give you a little idea of what the comic is all about:

An online graphic novel set during the gaudy glory days of 1980s professional wrestling, SLAM-A-RAMA chronicles the events of the greatest night in sports entertainment history. Over the course of one fateful evening, a diverse cast of characters–some at the top of their game, others on the downward slope of their careers–will be tested by bone-crushing battles within the ring, as well as the harrowing personal dramas that await them backstage.

  • Avenged Sevenfold Announce Drummer

After the departure of Mike Portnoy before Christmas there were many questions about who would be on drums for their upcoming 2011 dates. Today we find out direct from the band via their website.

We recently asked several friends who knew Jimmy and his style, and also knew our music and each of our personalities to suggest drummers to tour with us starting this year. Our long time studio drum tech, Mike Fasano, recommended Arin Ilejay. We’ve rehearsed with Arin and have been impressed with his technical skills, attitude and work ethic. We’re very excited to tour with Arin and hope all of you will give him the warm welcome to the family we have.

Thanks for your never ending support. It means the world to us.

See you on the Nightmare After Christmas

  • X-Men: First Class – First Picture

UPDATE JAN. 19: I’ve updated the leaked photo of the cast with a higher quality one. Director Matthew Vaughn says that it was not a pre-approved image. Obviously there was some confusion between Vaughn and Fox over this one as it was released by Fox.

MSN posted an image earlier today from the upcoming X-Men: First Class movie. The post has since been removed. Thankfully for us though… once it’s online it never goes away. I don’t know about you but I’m not all that excited about it yet. I’m hoping when we finally see a trailer for it that it will put my doubts about the film to rest.

Left to right, we see: Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havoc, Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier.

  • Californication Picked up for Season 5

Great news for Californication fans… It’s going to be coming back again next year for a fifth season!

Hot off the record-breaking ratings for the fourth-season premiere last week, SHOWTIME is picking up a fifth season of CALIFORNICATION, it was announced today by Showtime Networks President of Entertainment David Nevins. Twelve new episodes of the hit comedy series will go into production this spring.

CALIFORNICATION’s fourth season premiere delivered its best-ever premiere with over a million total viewers for the night. The series follows the exploits of writer Hank Moody (David Duchovny in his Golden Globe® Award-winning and SAG Award-nominated role) as he works to balance his career, ex-girlfriend, daughter and hedonistic vices.

This season, Hank enlists the help of high-powered defense attorney Abby (guest star Carla Gugino) to keep him out of prison after he’s charged with bedding a then-underage Mia (guest star Madeline Zima). Fourth season guest stars include Rob Lowe, Zoe Kravitz, Stephen Tobolowsky and rocker Tommy Lee will make a cameo, as well.

CALIFORNICATION is created by Tom Kapinos and executive produced by Kapinos and Duchovny.

  • Fringe Fridays

Fringe returns next week except this time on the dreaded Friday where shows go to die. I am truly hoping that isn’t the case. Fox has even went so far as to poke fun at that very worry with this promo video. Check it out.

  • All is new again!

The original zorlac.ca started back in 2002 using the original version of blogging software that WordPress is based off of, b2. Since then I upgraded the software with each upgrade and continued to add more and more information. At some point through the years, somewhere around mid-2005, my posting slowed down to near none. I think I only posted a dozen or 2 items since then. Today I start again. The old website is gone forever except for a backup on my hard drive. I hope that 2011 will be a year of posting things that I enjoy and hopefully something that someone may find interesting. Cheers. Oh.. before I forget. Give me a little time to get things rolling here. Work is kind of busy right now and well… getting paid has to come first.
