Hackers

August 4th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Website

I must say I really hate it when hackers decide to take over your website and use it as a phishing website. It did teach me to keep my server software up-to-date though. Now I have to fix the misc. errors and the layout.

Site News

There hasn’t been a lot of time in the last month to do updates and find lots of information to post about. Just over a week (June 6) and the Sopranos comes to an end for another season. I wish the season’s were longer then 13 episodes. Only 10 episodes for the next season (Season 6) and the show is going to wrap up. On the subject of TV shows, Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital, after a month without an episode the last one aired Wednesday. ABC doesn’t have any more episodes even scheduled to air. What’s up with that? There are only 4 episodes left in the story… Anyways, I’m hoping to get more updates done in June. I have a couple more websites I have to build and at my full time job they are redoing their network. I have to install, configure the new server and switches I ordered and set all the clients up for the new configuration. So time is a little short. When I do see some good info I’ll post it, but it may be lacking for a little while yet.

Updates Lacking

May 2nd, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in General, Website

Well, things have been really busy as of late and I haven’t had a lot of time to post. I’m hoping to post a little more over the next while. One thing I have done recently was a site for a local Bed and Breakfast. I also have a couple others coming up so I’ll post as much as I can, when I can. You can check out the site I just finished HERE.

Matrix Logons and Bootskins

January 27th, 2004 | 2 Comments | Posted in Website

Bootskin 1.0 has been released from Stardock. It’s a free download and allows you to change your boot screen in Windows 2000 or XP from the default one. Unlike other programs that can change the Windows XP boot screens, BootSkin does so in a safe manner. It doesn’t patch the Windows XP kernel. Nor does it require the user to download replacement Windows XP kernels to do so. I’ve added a few Matrix inspired downloads to the download section for Stardock’s Bootskin and LogonStudio. Also in the downloads section is a local link for Bootskin. If you haven’t downloaded LogonStudio, then you can get it HERE.

WordPress 1.0.1 Miles released

January 25th, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Website

It looks like tonight I might be updating the news script again. WordPress 1.0.1 “Miles” has been released. Time to move on from the release candidate and on to the final version. The update a few days ago required a rebuilding of the index page. This upgrade will hopefully be seemless and trouble free.

Update: WordPress 1.0.1 Miles installed successfully

New Links Page

January 25th, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Website

I’ve changed another portion of the website. The Add a Link page has been changed to a better script. One which is searchable and one I can administer better. Now I can easily stop spam links from showing up on the pages.

New Photo Gallery Online

January 24th, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Website

I’ve changed the photo gallery to a much more featured filled one. This one allows personalized favorites, integration with user accounts on the forum, send image as a post card, voting for images, comments, slideshow and more. The images from the old gallery have all been moved over and there are a few additions.

GeoURL and XFN

January 22nd, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Website

I’ve just set my website up to use GeoURL and am looking into adding XFN support for my site as well. GeoURL is a location-to-URL reverse directory. This will allow you to find URLs by their proximity to a given location. Find your neighbor’s blog, perhaps, or the web page of the restaurants near you. While XFN™ (XHTML Friends Network) is a simple way to represent human relationships using hyperlinks. In recent years, blogs and blogrolls have become the fastest growing area of the Web. XFN enables web authors to indicate their relationship(s) to the people in their blogrolls simply by adding a ‘rel’ attribute to their <a href> tags.
