Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy Nov. 23rd

At long last there is official word that the new Guns N’ Roses release Chinese Democracy will finally see the light of day. After over 15 years of waiting and millions of dollars in recording costs fans will finally be able to own a legitimate new Guns N’ Roses release. Sure there have been many leaks of unfinished and seemingly near complete songs but we will now be able to hear it the way Axl wants us all to. Available as an exclusive item to Best Buy in the United States (available at all retailers in Canada), people around the world can get their copy on November 23rd. Guns N’ Roses website has been updated with a countdown to the release date and the new single Chinese Democracy (which was released to radio today) streaming in the background. Happy Halloween!!

It’s Halloween time again which also brings my brother’s birthday the following day. My brother and I are pretty big Alice Cooper fans and loved the concert in Halifax in May. Now my great friend CD knows I am a big fan and being the incredible person she is, decided to make a specially carved pumpkin for me. She called the other night extremely excited for me to see this surprise she had for me. Not knowing what she was talking about at the time, I didn’t know what to expect. Once I saw it, I have to admit… it was a really cool surpise. Here is a picture of it for you to see for yourself.

Guns N Roses Come To Halifax on Nov. 20th

Before anyone really knew who Guns N Roses were they opened up for Iron Maiden in Halifax in 1987. Once Sweet Child O Mine was released as a single the band shot to superstardom. Now almost 20 years later and only Axl Rose remaining from the original lineup, he and his new band featuring Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Robin Finck (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboard), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Brain (drums) and new guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal are going to be invading Halifax on November 20th. Tickets are on sale this Saturday, September 30th. The opening band has been announced as Sebastian Bach. For ticket and show info, go HERE.

Alice Cooper coming to Halifax

Alice Cooper will be coming to the Halifax Metro Centre on May 3rd of 2006. The show was announced on Monday, December 19th and tickets went on sale Tuesday. I picked up mine yesterday and can’t wait to see the show. To get your tickets online, go to Ticket Atlantic. Opening for Alice will be none other then fellow Canadians Helix.

Motley Crue’s Carnival of Sins 2006 Tour comes to Halifax

Motley Crue’s “Red, White and Crue” reunion tour proved to be one of the biggest concert events of 2005. Now, Motley Crue continues their assault on North America with the brand-new 2006 edition of “Carnival of Sins.” Tickets went on sale today for Halifax and there was no way I was going to miss their March 2nd appearance. So off I went to get in line at one of the local ticket outlets early this morning. A slight delay at the ticket counter put the location I was at behind in the selling. I didn’t get floor seats, but I did get pretty decent lower bowl. The countdown begins. I can’t wait.

KMFDM Live Tonight at the Attic

I can’t believe it. One of my favorite bands is playing locally in Halifax… Got the tickets, concert in 2.5 hours. Sweet.

UPDATE: After a delay of over a couple hours, the concert got underway. The show.. amazing. It was a tight, heavy show filled with a killer playlist of tracks. After the show the band hung out with everyone signing shirts, dvds and anything else that people wanted signed. It was great seeing the band hanging out chatting with people until everyone had met with them. Definately a night to remember.

Megadeth – The System Has Failed

Now I really should have posted something on this last week, but I’ve been too busy with work and listening to this incredible new CD from Megadeth. The System Has Failed is simply put one of the best Megadeth CD’s. As mentioned a few months back, Megadeth’s other studio CD’s, minus The World Needs a Hero, have be remixed and remastered. Each album comes with bonus tracks, a write-up by Dave Mustaine and is much improved over the original. For tracklistings of the albums, check out this page I put together.
