DOOM 3 System Specs

The hardware specifications for DOOM 3 have been released. As expected, you need quite a hefty system to run the game so you may want to go upgrade before you play it. Here are the specs:

  • A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
  • 384 megabytes of memory
  • Two gigabytes of hard drive space
  • An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better

DOOM 3 Gold

After 4 years of waiting, it has finally happened. Todd Hollenshead has updated his .plan file with the announcement that DOOM 3 is gold. That’s right, it’s on it’s way to be copied and the next stop is a shop near you. The .plan file states that “Retailers in the States will be allowed to pick up games starting at 12:01 AM on August 3rd. The official street date is actually August 5th in the U.S.A., but some of your favorite stores will probably have it early for those of you who have to have it first.” Which of course is all of us!

Here’s the weekly update with the synopsis for the 2 hour finale of Kingdom Hospital:

Episode 13 Synopsis – ‘Season Finale’ – air date July 15, 2004.

A seance held by Sally Druse sends Dr. Hook and Peter back to the Old Kingdom. When they finally return with answers to buried secrets of the Gates Falls Mill fire, Mary’s trapped spirit is freed and the future of Kingdom Hospital is altered forever. Meanwhile, when a vengeful Dr. Stegman finally catches up with the real Johnny B. Goode (Stephen King) and Antibus, his most terrifying visions of The Old Kingdom are realized.

Episode 12 Synopsis – ‘Shoulda Stood in Bed’ – air date July 8, 2004.

When Peter Rickman has yet another seizure, he witnesses the eventual fate of Kingdom Hospital and makes a tangible connection with its frightening past. Meanwhile, Brenda and Dr. Hook finally make public Steg’s guilt in the Mona Klingerman medical malpractice incident — and send him on a crazed and violent tear for vengeance.

Friday the 13th Boxset

Paramount is finally releasing a five-disc set which features the entire collection of Paramount’s eight Friday the 13th films, two-per-disc, plus a fifth disc that is dedicated to many hours of behind-the-scenes material on the history and folklore associated with the classic horror series. Each of the films will receive anamorphic widescreen presentations and both English Dolby Digital and French Mono tracks. In case you were wondering why Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason were not included, it is because New Line owns the rights to those films.

As for extras you can expect the set to include a cast commentary on Friday the 13th Part 3 by author Peter Bracke and actors Larry Zerner, Paul Kratka, Dana Kimmell and Richard Brooker, a commentary on Friday the 13th Part VI by director Tom McLouglin, a commentary on Friday the 13th Part VII by actor Kane Hodder and director John Carl Buechler and a commentary on Friday the 13th Part VIII by director Rob Hedden. Also included will be a Tales From the Cutting Room featurette in which exclusive deleted scenes and footage is revealed for the first time, an eight part featurette entitled The Friday The 13th Chronicles which looks at the legacy of the films throughout their history, a three-part featurette “Secrets Galore Behind The Gore which looks at the work of master make-up effects designer Tom Savini in Part 1 and Part IV and John Carl Buechler in Part VII, a Crystal Lake Victims Tell All! featurette in which cast and crew from various films share amusing anecdotes and a Friday Artifacts and Collectibles featurette which looks at props and collectables from the films. Completing the package will be theatrical trailers from all eight movies except Part VI, which is represented by the teaser trailer.
