Frankie Valli joins Sopranos Cast

March 27th, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Television

CNN.com has all the news on Frankie Vallie joining the Sopranos cast. Frankie’s character will show up in this Sunday’s episode and his character is said to stay alive into season 6. Here’s a clip from the article that you can read HERE:

For the better part of two decades, Frankie Valli rode the pop charts as a hitmaker with such songs as “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll” and the theme song from “Grease.”

Now, he’s joining another brand of hitmakers — as a bad guy on “The Sopranos,” hanging out with mob types similar to some he grew up with.

Joining the cast of HBO’s “The Sopranos,” now in its fifth season, fulfills a dream for Valli that began four years ago when he first read for the show’s creator, David Chase.

Valli plays a captain in the New York faction of the mob, in the family of Carmine Lupertazzi, who has just beat the mob odds by dying a natural death. Valli is allied with the stroke victim’s son, Little Carmine (Ray Abruzzo).

The Matrix Box Set

March 24th, 2004 | Comments Off | Posted in Movies

Well, we knew it was coming eventually and now there are a few details about it. A Matrix Box Set is in the works. Here’s the limited info available from DVDAnswers:

We’ve just received word that work has already begun on material for the upcoming Matrix boxed set. While it’s still too early to speculate about the exact contents of the set, we do know that it will include “detailed documentaries on the philosophy and science behind the Matrix scripts as well as a look at the history of action cinema.” Apparently we can also expect a “densely layered documentary package estimated at nine total hours using footage that has not been seen in the other Matrix releases.” No word yet as to the level of involvement from the Wachowski brothers, but hopefully we’ll get commentary tracks at the very least.
