Happy New Year!!

December 31st, 2003 | 2 Comments | Posted in General, Movies, Music

Well, it is now New Year’s Eve day. S.W.A.T. came out yesterday on DVD and I finally got to pick it up this afternoon. It’s a great action movie if you haven’t seen it already. Anyways, tonight should be fun. We are going to the Engine Room to bring in the New Year and one of my favorite local bands are playing… Shameless. So a big Happy New Year to everyone, may you all have a great 2004.

Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2003 | Comments Off | Posted in General

It was a pretty decent Christmas day. I had way too much to eat like most of us do when the holiday meals are on the table. I now have a new keyboard and mouse. I got the Navigator Trio from Logitech as one gift. It’s a wireless keyboard and mouse and comes with the Quickcam Messenger Camera as well. Otherwise I got the Sopranos Season 3 DVD set, Die Hard 2 and a bunch of other nice gifts. Now Christmas is over, the cleanup begins and there is turkey to last for days and days.

Sorry for the lack of news as of late. There has been a lot going on lately with trying to find new work and the holidays coming up. Look for more updates soon.

Velvet Revolver – Comrades

December 18th, 2003 | Comments Off | Posted in Music

News on the Velvet Revolver album today. Thanks to Here Today… Gone to Hell!! for the info.

Velvet Revolver, the much buzzed-about rock group featuring ex-Stone Temple Pilots vocalist Scott Weiland, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner from Dave Navarro’s (Jane’s Addiction) band, have set “Comrades” as the working title for their much-anticipated debut, tentatively due on April 27 through RCA Records.

The album, which was produced by Josh Abraham (Limp Bizkit, Staind) and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, White Zombie, Linkin Park, Slayer, Sepultura), is scheduled to be mastered this Friday (Dec. 19) in New York City. The mastering session will be attended by the entire band minus Weiland, who is currently completing a six-month residential drug rehabilitation program in Pasadena, Ca.

Scott, who was recently placed on strict lockdown after attempting to bring drugs into the residential facility, is believed to have one more song left to record for the CD, which will include twelve of the more than fifty tracks the band co-wrote before and after Weiland joined the lineup last spring. Songtitles set to appear on the album include “Slither”, “Falling to Pieces”, “Superhuman” and “Illegal Eye”.

Check out their official site HERE for more information on the band.

No Power

December 18th, 2003 | Comments Off | Posted in General

10 hours without power sucks. This is the 4th time this fall that we have lost power here. Today it was winds. Two times before it was snow / winds and the one before that was Hurricane Juan. I didn’t get a thing done all day workwise. I did however get to read more of The Dark Tower 5 – Wolves of the Calla. I’m really glad the last 2 books are coming out next year.
