I saw that picture in a Metal Edge magazine in 1988 and it has been in the back of my mind ever since. When I first got online and needed to think of a nickname, that was what came to mind. Finally, I must say Happy Anniversary to my parents! They are celebrating 35 years together today.
In the ongoing effort to find newer ways to put Linux on the XBox, one group may have done something that puts Microsoft in a rather hairy position.
The group said it’s discovered exploits that let them run Linux on an Xbox without using a mod-chip. And it’ll release the details to the public, unless Microsoft issues a legitimately signed Xbox Linux bootloader.
Microsoft’s between a rock and a hard place here, because a signed Linux bootloader wouldn’t permit unauthorized copying or playing of Xbox games but their exploits would, say the Australian Xbox enthusiasts. As they’d rather not abet any illegalities, they’d prefer Microsoft cooperate.
Sometimes I really hate computers. I have one here that I am trying to fix. Actually, I started working on it on Thursday. I went to the person’s house and started working on it and almost had it completed, but I had to leave to get to Cheryl’s niece’s graduation. So, I went back yesterday and spent the whole day trying to get it to work again. During the time when I wasn’t there it decided it wanted to freeze when you booted it up. I couldn’t get around it so I tried to install Windows over top of the current installation. It wouldn’t install. Then I had problems getting the data copied to their other system. After I got it copied and backed up it was almost 4 so I brought it home with me. I formatted it, reinstalled a different Windows and when it finished it gave errors. Hardware problem. So, today I have to finish figuring out what part of it is faulty. Argh. What a pain at times.

Well, politics kept me from doing a website a little while ago. I had the job, then I didn’t. Why? Politics. So and so is good buddies with so and so, so they will do the web work. Well, it seems that they are going to be seeing the error in their judgement if work contines as is which looks good for me. On a different note, I am still trying to find full time employment. I have a couple of options that I am thinking about and will have to decide by next week. I am still waiting on an answer on a couple other different websites. I really hope this all works out. I have no income now and I haven’t found full time work in the past 9 months. I really need these jobs. *crosses fingers* Well, time to go teach Excel 2000 so I have to stop rambling on and get going. See ya.
Well, another beautiful day. The garden is finally planted and I had the car in for an alignment, oil change and a tire rotation. While in town I got a hold of a couple books to add to the collection. The first one is a great reference book with tons of info – HTML for the world wide web 5th Edition and the other is great for learning how to make more advanced websites – PHP and MySQL Web Development.
Well, after 2 winter’s worth of salt buildup, I finally don’t have salt on my car’s carpet anymore. For an amazing price I had the car washed and interior done for only $47. WOW! I went to Washed Wright and Sons on Main Street in Bible Hill. I’ll definately be going back there. Otherwise, Dax went to the vet today. She is now an “it”. She also doesn’t have a hernia anymore. She is very sleepy and resting in one of the cat kennels so the other 2 cats can’t bother her while she gets better. Other then that.. I’m a little sunburnt. It was just too nice today to be inside.
